Hans Raj College has always provided
a great launch pad for its students for employment in the corporate sector, and
the last year was no different either. Time and again our students have proved
their worth to their employers. The erstwhile teacher-in-charge of the placement
cell (Dr. Mangal Nath) has now retired, and the new cell has been restructures
as mentioned above, with our former Vice-Principal, Dr. S.K. Srivastava
(Department of History) as the Convenor. For all information
dissemination purposes, the Placement Cell will work in coordination with the
Portal Committee. The online
profile of the cell will be regularly updated for the benefit of the corporate
employers.
As we had reported in our 2011 Annual
Report, Ernst & Young emerged as the top recruiter. They visited the campus a
number of times and recruited around 50 students from the Commerce and Economics
Departments for various positions in the Company.
A total of almost 30 organizations
have visited our campus so far. The list includes some of the top names like PWC,
E&Y, Delloite, Google, Facebook, KPMG Genpact, UBS, Accenture McKinsey, Grant
Thornton, Troikka pharmaceuticals, Oberoi Hotels, Rockland Hospitals ... and
many more. More than 180 students have been offered jobs by these corporate
giants. Quite a few moe organizations are expected to visit the campus for
placement interviews in the near future.
The last placement session saw the
highest package of INR 8,30,000, which was offered by Futures First, closely
followed by Jaypee Capital, which offered a package of INR 7,20,000. The mimumim
pay package on offer was of INR 2,10,000 offered by Protiviti.
Those who did not belong to the
business widget, or intend to follow the business league, had a choice to pick
from Gandhi Fellowships, teach for India, ICICI Fellowships etc on their
platter.\
The visit of the Indian Air Force to
the campus was marked by a revival of patriotic zeal in our younger generation.
The turn up of the students was indeed impressive.
We had hosted a seminar on the 'International
Business Environment and IFRS' organized by Ernst & Young. A two-day
workshop was held, courtesy KPMG, to provide the students a feel of corporate
working in different areas. A visit to the offices of KPMG and E&Y was really
fruitful for the students. An interesting fact that emerged out of the entire
placement process was that the top officials of most of the visting
organizations wre themselves alumunus of Hans Raj College. This was definitely a
great motivating factor for all the aspiring students.
We wish the students of Hans Raj
College a very bright future ahead. Our message for them all ...
Constantia et labore - by resolution and exertion that is !
