Spic Macay



The Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth,  often known by its initials (SPIC MACAY), is not just a non-profit organization which promotes Indian classical music, Indian classical dance, and other aspects of Indian culture, it is a movement with chapters in over 300 towns and cities all over the world. SPIC MACAY was established by Dr. Kiran Seth in 1977 at IIT Delhi.

It seeks to foster the exchange of traditional Indian values and to generate awareness of the cultural traditions and heritage of India. In order to achieve its goals, SPICMACAY organizes concerts, lectures, demonstrations, informal discussions, and seminars. These are hosted by local chapters of the organization.

On 26th November 2010 in a concert organised by Spic Macay in the Hans Raj College Chapter, Pt. Madgala was invited to perform and interact with the students.

The concert was held in the Hansraj College, hostel lawns, Pt. Madhup Mudgala started with Raga Yaman and then presented Madhuvanti Kedar and three Bhajans.

Pt. Maudgala has a great command over Layakaari. The emotional appeal in his singing is par excellence. Panditji is one of the foremost disciples of the great Pt. Kumar Gandharva. Panditji ended his concert with a beautiful bhajan in Raga Bhairvi.
