ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY

The society organised several educational excursions, lectures and and other cultural programs this year. An entomological excursion trip to Nainital and Mukteshwar was organised in the month of October, 2010 for III Yr Zoology (H) students. The students also visited Fresh Water institute of Fisheries under the guidance of Dr. P. Kumar and Ms. Anjali. A Scientific excursion was  arranged for IInd Zoology (H) and life Science students to Techno fest organized jointly by CSIR and FICCI in trade fair 2010 under the guigance of Dr. Kanchan Batra, Dr. Shashi Dhingra, Dr. Lokesh Chandra Mishra and Ms. Parul Puri. Students won first, second and third prize in the quiz organised by CSIR. The society organised its annual festival on 29th October, 2010. Dr. M.K. Pandit, an eminent scientist of Remote sensing Institute, New Delhi delivered a lecture on "Global Climate Change and its Impact on Species Range Distribution". The students participated in various events of festival with great enthusiasm. A lecture on "Art of Living" was delivered by Mr. Avinash Tikku. The lecture was organised by Dr. Shahsi Dhingra, Dr. Kanchan Batra was the coordinator of the festival and Ms. Supriya Srivastava and Dr. Lokesh Chandra Mishra assisted her in organising the various events.
